Kathy Boyle focuses her practice on Real Estate, particularly leasing, development and redevelopment of retail, mixed use, office, warehouse and industrial projects on behalf of developers, landlords and tenants. Her experience includes adaptive re-use, urban in-fill, transportation-oriented development, and big box, outparcel and build-to-suit leasing.
Ms. Boyle worked as an in-house real estate counsel for over eleven years on both the developer/landlord side and the tenant side. She handled all elements of commercial real estate transactions for the development, redevelopment, operation and mid-to-large format leasing of shopping centers, infill urban developments and mixed use projects nationwide as in-house counsel for a shopping center REIT, its private subsidiaries and joint ventures. She had the sole responsibility and handled all aspects of negotiating and closing the sale of an eighteen building office portfolio in Las Vegas, a $120,000,000 transaction.
On the tenant side, Ms. Boyle handled new store leases nationally for the world’s largest tire sales and auto service retailer. She drafted and negotiated ground leases, build-to-suit leases and existing building leases nationally, including locations in shopping center outparcels, strip centers, individual parcels and former industrial sites. She adapted existing synthetic lease financing structure to include construction financing for ground leases and negotiated financings with landlords and leasehold and fee lenders.
Ms. Boyle writes and lectures on development and leasing matters and shopping center operating issues. She has been given an AV rating by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
