Meltzer, Purtill & Stelle LLC is pleased to welcome Senior Associate Lorrette Fisher and Associate Diana Larson. Lorrette joined the firm on Jan. 27 and Diana started on Feb. 3.
Lorrette is a litigator in the firm’s commercial litigation practice. She brings to MPS extensive experience handling complex cases and resolving disputes. Known for her skilled courtroom presence, Lorrette has represented clients in both state and federal courts across the United States. Her background covers a broad range of litigation tasks, including drafting pleadings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
Immediately after law school, Lorrette clerked for a trial court judge in the New York State Supreme Court, gaining in-depth exposure to employment law, real estate law, and medical malpractice. She also has experience working at a leading digital advertising agency, developing creative strategies on multiple multi-million-dollar corporate accounts.
Charles Valente, one of the most experienced partners in the commercial litigation practice, was delighted Lorrette chose MPS when she relocated from New York. “We know she had other offers, and we’re thrilled she decided to come to MPS. Obviously, she likes the culture and the people she’ll be working with, plus the opportunity to take a leading role in important cases. Lorrette brings a lot to the table. Her intellectual curiosity and courtroom skills make her an excellent addition to our team.”
Diana Larson is joining the firm’s estate planning and trust and probate administration practice. She is experienced in all phases of trust and estate planning. She enjoys working closely with her clients as a trusted advisor who guides them through complex estate planning, asset protection planning, and probate and trust administration.
Diana’s typical clients are high-net-worth individuals and multi-generational families with significant assets. Diana helps her clients plan for the management, protection, and distribution of these assets. She spends time understanding what her clients’ goals are so she can present options to them that satisfy those goals. Diana also pursues a practice in art law and advises clients on the acquisition and distribution of fine art and valuable personal property.
Russ Robinson, one of the partners in this section at MPS, was eager to recruit Diana. “Diana has exactly the depth and breadth of experience in trusts and estates we were seeking. She knows tax law and how it impacts trusts, and she is comfortable handling all aspects of estate planning for high-net-worth individuals who want to protect their assets and leave a strong foundation to their heirs. We are all looking forward to working with her,” said Robinson.
William Mitchell, managing partner at the firm, echoed the sentiments expressed by Valente and Robinson. “Lorrette and Diana are two highly accomplished attorneys who could have gone anywhere, but they both chose MPS. They recognize the talent we have here, our commitment to client service, and the collegiality of our firm. We are all eager to work with them.”
