Nick Helmer focuses his practice on representing real estate developers, institutions and family offices in commercial real estate including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, leasing, property management, construction management and loan restructuring in the office, industrial, multi-family, senior housing, retail, condominium, hospitality, vacant land and SFR sectors.
Prior to joining MPS, Nick practiced at an AmLaw Top 5 International Law firm, as General Counsel for one the largest private real estate companies in Chicago, and as Chief Real Estate Counsel for a publicly traded FinTech SFR owner in Manhattan. Nick’s expertise encompasses structuring and negotiating acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, capital raises, and every tranche of real estate finance. Nick thrives on creating value opportunities by evaluating and implementing technology solutions to every aspect of real estate investment including artificial intelligence.
Nick is not only a legal expert but also a mentor and leader, known for his ability to motivate and develop his teams and ensuring the highest level of service for his clients. Nick currently sits on the Board of Directors of Little City Foundation, a not-for-profit company that provides services and housing for over 1,000 disabled adults in Illinois.
